BATCH TRANSFERRING IN PRODUCTIONINVENTORY SYSTEMS

Authors: not saved
Abstract:

In most production-inventory systems, the products are transferred from the production centre to the inventory (warehouse) in subbatchs rather than one at a time. In this paper, mathematical models of such systems for both deterministic and stochastic cases of demand are developed and analysed. Comparison of these new models with the EBQ model shows a considerable loss when applying the rules of EBQ model to the batch transferring systems.

Sequencing Batch Reactor Systems

The sequencing batch reactor (SBR) process is a sequential suspended growth (activated sludge) process in which all major steps occur in the same tank in sequential order (figure 1). There are two major classifications of SBRs: the intermittent flow (IF) or “true batch reactor,” which employs all the steps in figure 1, and the continuous flow (CF) system, which does not follow these steps. Both...

Batch mode scheduling in grid systems

Despite recent advances, grid and P2P systems remain difficult for many users to bring to real-world applications. One difficulty is the lack of schedulers for such systems. In this work, we consider the allocations of jobs to resources using batch mode methods. These methods are able to provide fast planning by exploring characteristics of distributed and highly heterogeneous systems. In evalu...

New Formulation and Solution in PCB Assembly Systems with Parallel Batch processors

This paper considers the scheduling problem of parallel batch processing machines with non-identical job size and processing time. In this paper, a new mathematical model with ready time and batch size constraints is presented to formulate the problem mathematically, in which simultaneous reduction of the makespan and earliness-tardiness is the objective function. In recent years, the nature-in...

wind farm impact on generation adequacy in power systems

Transferring Proofs of Zero-Knowledge Systems with Quantum Correlations

The use of quantum correlations to attack security protocols is an important research line deserving growing attention. An important class of cryptographic protocols used as building blocks for several other more complex protocols is zero-knowledge proof systems. One of the properties that zero-knowledge proof systems are assumed to satisfy is that it is impossible for the verifier to show to a...

Real time scheduling of batch systems

The approach presented in this article is based on the real time simulation of p-time Petri net for the real time scheduling of batch systems. After defining the different kinds of constraints which can exist in a linear hybrid production system, we present the conflict resolution principle used by a token player algorithm at the global coordination level.
